Ireland’s Eye Ferries
Since February of 1947, Cyril Doyle and his two sons Frank (16 years) and Brian (12 years) decided to concentrate on doing trips to Ireland’s Eye. Since then his son Frank snr, followed by his grandsons Frank Jnr and Ken have continued the tradition.
Now, with Ken’s sons Emmet and Kevin involved, Ireland’s Eye Ferries are a fourth generation Howth family business running trips to and around Ireland’s Eye.
The trips are a scenic tour around the Island taking in the wonderful views and wildlife, and last approx. 40 minutes.
For the more adventurous you can stop off on the island and spend an hour or two exploring and hiking or simply relax on the quiet beaches. The island is steeped in history, from Monks to Vikings to Norsemen and Napoleon.
“Really worth doing the trip around the island. You get great views and see a lot of wildlife up close: guillemots, cormorants and gannets divebombing into the water. We had the boat to ourselves and it was a really special experience!”
